Object in Space

April 17 - Space traffic control was deluged with calls today by concerned citizens spotting a mysterious, bright object in the night sky. Praising our citizens for their vigilance, government authorities issued a statement that the object is a weather balloon reflecting the light from Avalon. Travellers are advised to avoid the area as the object could represent a navigational hazard.

Lab Technicians Go On Strike

March 14 - Lab Technicians at the Zénobie Insitut Polytechnique entered a second day of labour action disrupting traffic in the downtown core. Authorities have called in a team of specialists to negotiate with the workers and to restore order.

Citizens are advised to stay clear of the picket lines and go about their business as normal. Ignore any loud bangs. If bitten by a lab technician, seek medical attention immediately.

Leading Physician Visits Albion City

August 8 - Dr. Eliza Eaglefeather, newly appointed head physician of the Al Raqis Medical Centre, recently visited Albion City where she toured medical and research facilities.

Highlights included an inspection of an Alliance hospital, and a chat with an AI at the Zénobie Insitut Polytechnique. The tour concluded with an informal dinner with local and visiting dignitaries including Tillery Woodhen, CEO of the Cortex News Service.

Known as an Ambassador of Goodwill, Dr. Eaglefeather has been recognized for her impartial treatment to all in need, and for her neutral stance in interplanetary affairs. "We are honoured to have such a rising star in the medical profession visit our hospitals," said Zenobie Baxton, representative of the Zenobian government.

The doctor's next scheduled stop is Spinwheel City on her whirlwind tour of 34 Tauri.

November 26 - The Government of Zenobia today announced that travel to and from the planet Albion, Foreign Ward District D42X, will be restricted commencing early December.

Cargo and passenger traffic will be redirected. Details to follow.

Full consulate services on Mu Draconis remain unaffected.

Girolami Medical Centre Scheduled for Closure

February 4 - Today it was announced that the Girolami Medical Centre, located in the Pleione Province, will be closing its doors later this month.

Famous for charity work both at home and off-world, the Girolami Medical Centre has been recognized as a leader in the interplanetary medical community. Providing services to citizens and non-citizens alike, the hospital has offered an array of services ranging from simple heart bypass and cloned organ transplants to cybernetic implants and nerve and tissue regeneration procedures.

Sources from the Ministry of Health and Reanimation (MOHR) have stated that new facilities are being considered in a number of locations.

Zenobia Opens Embassy on Al Raqis

January 20 - Lord Senenmut Flanagan visited Al Raqis earlier today to open the newly-established Zenobian embassy. The Noble Lord of Zenobia's leading family gave his approval to the efforts of newly-appointed Ambassador Jai Raghida and Manager of Estates Zeno Baxton.

Decorated with art from the private collections of the nobility, the embassy will offer full consular services. Embassy staff will pursue trade and treaty negotiations with the Great Houses of Al Raqis and the settlement of Splintered Rock.

While Zenobia remains a member state in the Union of Allied Planets, she is exercising her right to conclude certain treaties with foreign powers.

Asked if the embassy will be flying the flag of the UAP, Manager of Estates Zeno Baxton said, "We are here to represent House Zenobia. We would never presume to speak for the Central Government. "

A formal opening ceremony will be held at a date to be determined.
